Why I am a Financial Advisor:
I got into financial advising in an unexpected way. At the time, I had been in the financial industry in an analytical capacity, when Bill invited me to join his company as an advisor. To me, the transition was very easy as I had experience with portfolio modeling and I knew what kind of news and fundamental data influenced market returns. What I find most satisfying in my career is working and helping people achieve their financial goals. It’s always nice to pick a stock that goes through the roof, but without our clients to share this with, the job wouldn’t be as satisfying.
What makes us different than other firms is that we actually watch investments all day long. Our buy and sell decisions aren’t right all the time, but we stick to our core values of protecting principal. Yes, you have to give investments a little wiggle room, but capital preservation is truly what separates us from others. The cost to this strategy is we do give up some upside potential; however, this strategy works well in unpredictable and erratic markets. On a further note, we are looking at our clients’ portfolios on a daily basis, and each portfolio is different. We do this regardless of the portfolio’s value, since each client is as important as the guy next to him. I also think we communicate well with our clients and offer great advice.
